Anyone ever tried to run something of this sort
fuel pressure in excess of 90 psi?

if im not mistaken the stock pump is 45 psi?
but the higher the pressure the greater atomization and thus more power + more effective burn leading to a stronger engine with less crap emissions

they are using this on other engines but im not completely in tune with this method

The stock pump doesn't deliver any "psi". PSI is restriction, set by the pressure regulator by blocking the return.

Why is the real question. Maybe you want a Diesel with hydraulic assisted injectors? Around 1000 psi or so?

continue about the diesel whatever your talking about
im curious and i have no clue what your refferring to

if you mean i want a diesel burning engine then no.
not at all.

if you look at certain yamaha and mazda engines, some are running very high fuel pressures to efficiently atomize all gasoline. the better atomization and distribution of fuel in the intake air charge, the more efficient burn. So, why wouldnt you want something like this right?

i think hes talking about direct injection. while it seems to be a cool idea its not really feasible on the 7M. its like the difference between a carb setup and port injection and direct injection. different levels of efficiency and engineering.

he means simply means raising fuel pressure. Get a afpr and see what happens but I wouldn't. Prolly wreck something. I don't think any gas engine is direct injection. Only diesels

Incorrect

lots of newer engines are Direct injected. My 07 CTS is ;)

Lots of engines are direct injection these days. More control of combustion and greater efficiency are just a few of the benefits. Quite a bit of research being done on compression ignition gasoline engines too (diesel/otto cycle hybrid).

there are a few direct inject gas motors....most suck but Honda recently came out with a vtec motor with d/ij that runs ultra lean at cruise....it can run lean cause it doesn't inject fuel till it's ready to burn...it's also a super high compression motor....it's full of win!

WOW:aigo: that is a eye opener, "Direct Gasoline Injection was introduced on production aircraft during WWII, with both German (Daimler Benz) and Soviet (KB Khimavtomatika) designs."

wow again, so i was clearly wrong but.. they are still spark ignition right, not compression??

but as for his question i think he just means raising fuel pressure, hopefully he say or know what hes asking.

thanks for the heads up fellows.
