High Idle

For the past couple weeks my idle has been way too high, pretty much 1500 in park and 1000 in drive. I have no idea what it could be I have been working on so much lately with the engine. After while it seems to kick down only after about 20-30 minutes of running and AFTER it gets shut off. The only thing that I can think of that could be related to this problem is my charcoal cannister removal, it was done on the same day this problem started occuring. Help would be VERY appreciated please :icon_bigg

Charcoal canister should not raise the rpms like that.
You check for codes?

Well it depends on which vacuum hose you removed when you removed the charcol canister.

bad tps. try turning it until it has lower rpm

^ eh, no. how about try correcting the problem the RIGHT way:

first, we check the codes. here's how:

If he impropperly removed the charcol canister, then its likely that he has an open vacuum line causing the high idle.

listen to shaeff and MDC. they have alot of knowledge. always attack the problem not the symptom.

I did the code test and I did get code 51, still cant for the life of me see why its still doing that though. I just took the supra for a spin now its idling too LOW, and keeps stalling out almost everytime i come to a stop. I litterally didnt do anything, except push the purge hose another 1/8 inch in for a more secure connection. :icon_conf Need help:cry:

UPDATE:

I started fiddling around with everything i could see and I finally am back to a clean sheet with the diagnostic codes. The idle is still a bit low but its not stalling out at all anymore, so i must have done something right. Now all i gotta do is adjust the idle back to normal and im set.

Don't try and adjust the idle. Idle on our cars is determined by three things:

Cpu, fuel pressure, and air fuel ratio
