My reason to appear here is mostly my son, who bought 86 /87/88 Supra with swapped turbo engine.
I'm not even interested in cars too much, my hobby are old motorcycles.
I live near Toronto / ON in a townhouse so we don't have a lot of space to use for repairing / rebuilding this car, but I decided to help him with removing intake manifolds to change gaskets there and was quite surprised with quality components used by Toyota in these cars. Reminds me of really old times and doing the same kind of job to 68 Jag S :)
In order to do the job right had to start reading about these engines and this is how I found Supramania.
Unfortunately car is in disarray electronically, so I'm going to be frequent visitor in technical part of the forum.
Greetings to all,

Adam M.

Once you start getting into a supra it never gets out of you ;) I have been fighting it for 10+ years, and still wish I didn't buy my first one.(that was 4 supra's ago, lol)

Welcome :drink1:

I'm really a Subaru man, much more practical car during our winters.
I do not crave speed anymore too so whats left is mechanical / electrical problems which still could be intriguing to me :).

Welcome !. I have a feeling you will be intrigued...:icon_bigg. Toyota engineering can be a challenge to figure out when it comes to maintenance/repair. Your son's Supra should definitely give ya some intellectual stimulation.

When you look at the age of these cars, and then look at the technology that's in them (digital climate control in the 1980's?), this was Toyota's flagship car. It was the most expensive machine they sold at the time. The quality in these cars it much higher than most. It's even higher than most Toyota's.

That is what we are here for. ;)

Electronics on these cars are actually not that bad to work with. Post something up in the technical section about the issues you are seeing. We can help.

Welcome aboard!

Before I start asking questions, I have to learn Supra EFI.
For now I'm in OHV air cooled engines fueled by carbs :)
