As the title says, I'm attempting a 1JZ swap into my car. Both the Cressida and the motorset kind of fell into my lap so I figured why the hell not.
The motor is from an x81 chaser (which should hopefully make things a little easier as far as wiring goes) and came with the a340. I am debating getting the car driving for now and slowly collecting the parts needed to swap to r154 or biting the bullet and getting it out of the way up front.
I don't really intend to make this car much more than a fast, comfortable daily driver so I think modifications will be limited to a good set of shocks and springs (if i can find one that suits me) or if I can't justify that, a coilover setup from serialnine.
I am also considering dumping the ct12's right away and using the ct26 single setup from driftmotion. That should more than handle my immediate power goals while leaving me some room to work with should I decide to go bigger in the future... But the turbos that came with the motor look to be fine.
Anyway, thanks for the awesome site, I have been referred by a lot of people when seeking info about the motor. Hopefully I can get this thing up and running with a minimum of drama before winter (December).
