at the momment i have a 88 na supra with ::bhg:: so i was thinkinking of getting a 7mgte from rabidchimp.com. but wondering if there are better options and also what type of tranny i have and if it will work with a 7mgte.
it is a manual n/a 88 supra.

N/A come with a w58, I am not sure if it will work with the 7m-GTE but I am sure one of the guys here will be able to tell you. ( sorry i am relatively new to the site as well, but I try and help any way i can.....)

Yes the W58 (n/a trans) will bolt up to the 7MGTE(U). I don't have any direct experience with the N/A to Turbo swap but many many people have done it and there is plenty of great documentation on it. You can use the search feature here and I would also highly recommend 4cefed.com and starting at the "NA->Turbo Conversion Info" link.

The GTE to W-58 is a bolt up affair. If you have 300+ HP goals you should just go with an R-154.

Some people say good things about rabidchimp and others say bad things. I guess its hit or miss with the engines.
