Hi all,
My name is Armando I'm from nor cal. I recently bought a mk3 n/a 5 speed and with a rod knock (good deal). I with the help from a friend have since replaced the engine with a 40k mile jdm one from a good recommended importer along with head gasket replacement at the shop torqued to spec and replaced timing belt/ water pump,access belts ,cooling + vacuum hoses,clutch, clutch MC,clutch SC, t stat, and full tune up. Plans were to make a reliable daily driver BUT I'm already thinking about going ge-t with gte electronics or full gte swap in the future.
Anyhow I've been reading a lot through this site and finally got around to joining, it seems like there's a lot of good info/help around here. I look forward to meet with like minded people at any upcoming meets (if there is any near). See you guys around and hope we all get along!
Ps. Quick q?, I searched around and read a lot but couldnt get a specific answer. If I were to go the ge-t w/ all gte electronics would I need a tune or the gte ecu will run the higher compression alright on low boost 7-9 psi. ( sorry kinda newb to forced induction)
