Below is a picture of my oil pressure gauge. It stays this way whether the engine is running or not. I checked and the wire is hooked up to the sending unit. No change when I disconnect it either. My question for you is, bad gauge or bad sending unit? I've never seen a gauge do this before.

Well, if the gauge does it regardless of whether or not it's hooked up to the sending unit, then it's more than likely the gauge.

I'd find another known working gauge and drop it in. If it doesn't work, it'll only cost like $15 and you can probably sell it on ebay.

I've got an extra oil pressure gauge if you decide you need one.
