Recent history: BHG at around 116k miles. Decked the head, OEM HG, ARP studs, every wear item replaced except the block internals (block was not decked). Everything torqued to spec. It's been less than 500 miles.
Today it overheated, the upper radiator hose was rock hard and the overflow reservoir is still full. I noticed a drip from what looks like the drivers side heater hose on the engine side. Also saw what looks like white residue on the turbo elbow flange where it bolts to the turbo.
Possible causes I can think of:
BHG - obviously all new.(cry)
Radiator cap - also new but replaced a couple days ago.
Thermostat - replaced during HG repair with a fail-safe.
Water pump - also new (not reman) replaced during HG repair
I'll be doing a coolant system pressure test and compression test and will post results but I'm thinking somehow it's BHG again. Just wanted any other thoughts while I'm checking things.
