:1zhelp: So I'm a college student right now, and don't have much money to upgrade my supra right now... Just to keep it in order. I love my supra, but recently, she's been giving me some trouble. It's a 1988 7MGE non-turbo. She starts off running fine, but once the engine gets a little warm, sometimes she starts to sputter and you can smell radiator fluid coming through the air system. This happens mostly in freeway stop and go traffic or when I'm driving through a lot of stoplights. Also, when this sputtering starts, the hot air from the heater becomes cold air, almost like the temperature outside. Then the car starts to overheat. Strange thing is, though, once you get the car going at a faster speed (about 20mph+), the problems disappear. The engine cools down, the heat comes back on, the air doesn't smell like radiator fluid. I also am having to refill the radiator fluid much more frequently... at least once a week. I have no idea of what is happening, nor do I have a mechanic in the area that I can trust who will know what the problem is. Please help with any ideas of possible problems, or with a mechanic reference in the Seattle, WA area. Thanks!
