My gas tank has been blasted and resealed and I am amazed at how well the car is running. On to topic, I have a set of brand new 225/60r16s that went to my old monte carlo. I have stock saw blade rims on my mk3, what I am curious about is will these tires fit on to the mk3? They looked quite a bit bigger but I really am not wanting them to go to waste since they are new. Second, the car has tems on it, what shocks, for daily driving would you recommend? I don't race, no crazy drift, just a basic dd for now? And finally, my trunk makes a lot of racket up and down, the bumpers on it don't look worn out, I'm attributing this to the poor shapes of the tires and shocks, but is there anything I could do to help remedy this? I thought about tightening it down a smidge on the latch. Thats all, thank you for all the help guys, not so bad being a newb round these parts.

The problem with your hatch bouncing around may be your bump stops. I also thought mine looked good, but my hatch rattled so I decided to replace them, and it fixed the problem. On the bump stops that go on to the body of the car you could see very small tears in the rubber where it supported the hatch. The round bump stops on the hatch were also considerably shorter than the new ones, from all the years of the hatch's weight compressing them.

The top one is the new one, and the bottom one is the old one.
After I replaced the bump stops it fixed the rattle, and the hatch now has a very solid feel when it is closed.

Tires will work okay but look funny and it won't handle as well and i'm sure they're probably T rated so that's also not good either.. Plus your speedo will be off in a police officer's favor. Poodles and silver got you on the other things.

I got the bump stops from toyota.
The part numbers are:
90541-09047 x2 round bump stops
67293-14030 x2 square bump stops
90159-50116 x4 screw for square bump stops
In total all the parts were like $40-50
