Lately, my car is "burning oil", or whatever you call this in english. Specially on higher revs. It's currently automatic and N/A. I will change the tranny soon, though, I want my manual tranny. I will stay N/A... less problems, and enough power for now, because it's my ONLY car. Maybe if I get a daily driver someday, I'll spend money on this one. But for now, all I want is a reliable engine, and at least the fun of shifting gears ;-) .... This is my first automatic car, and I hate it because of it.
ANYWAYS.. I know I probably need to change the piston rings. Great. My mechanic told me to wait until they "open" the engine, so they check the block and some other stuff, so he recommends buying the piston rings only after opening the block. However, he told me I could buy the other stuff... seals, gaskets, etc....
That brings my question up: What can I buy? Is there a kit somewhere? Something that has gaskets, the valve seals, and all that crap? Or do I have to purchase a lot of stuff sepparately? It usually takes at least 2 weeks for me to get it, because it flies overseas to me.. so I wanna have most of the parts in my hands before parking my car for some time. I have some CRAPPY spark plug wires, I'm gonna go with the good ones I've seen at 935motorsports I believe. I should also get good spark plugs, iridum or something. Hell, maybe I should get a MSD too? Heh, I do want _some_ power... =P ... so maybe a good air filter? header?
