I installed my new carpet today, but came across a problem. The carpet around the trans tunnel and along the floor fits perfectly. However, around the outter edges it doesn't join with the outter corners at all. Take a look at the pics and let me know your opinion on what I should do to get the rest of the carpet to fit flush.

I don't know what you mean by outer-corners, but if you stretch the carpet a little bit, it should be okay. Remember that it will take awhile before the carpet sits flat and perfect, since it just came out of a box.

I purposely used the seatblet bolt holes (by the doors) to "pull" the carpet outwards, then flattened down as I found the remaining holes to be cut.

I'm not seeing the issue with your tho, from the pics you provided... can you point it out in one of your pics?

Well, the carpet sat on the ground for 3 full days infront of a heat lamp before I installed it. My concern is that it seems to be bunching up around the outter edges of the carpet. And in the rear corners of the carpet (front corner of the backseats and back corner of the door sills) seem to be bunching up there aswell and not sitting flat on the ground. If you take a look at the two middle pics it should show what Im referring to. Also I think I F*^K'd up and cut the holes for the seat/belt holes too big. The carpet came with a 40oz jute padding on the underside which was a OITA to cut through. Hopefully they get covered up fine.

The "bunched up" part in the corners (at the back seat), will tuck under the side panels and fold over (to be under the back seat).

I'd take a pic of mine, but it's at the shop today, gettin' some new tint. I'll see what I can do later tonight. FWIW, I think very few of us got our 1st carpet install done, the way we want it to turn out. I'm on my 2nd one, 'cause I Fed up the 1st one. Things that I probably could have lived with, but didn't want to.

yeah, i know what you mean. It is a spot that is there, may not be noticable, and just burns you down until it get fixed right. Do you think that the holes are too big. I wonder if there is a way I can Hide them if they end uo showing.

BTW. What you are saying is that when I put my interior pieces back in, it will pull the carpet to the sides and hide anythink that might get bunched up. When you can, PLEASE take pics. I'd love to see them.

The way I "patched up" my previous bad spots was to cut a piece of the leftover carpet and patch it into place using a glue gun (glue underneath, of course).

Yeah, once you put everything back in, you'll see that many of the imperfections are hidden.... what a shame... it looks great seeing all that black carpet. Once you put everything in, only a small portion will be seen by anyone else.

That is big releaf. I've had all my interior out for more than 3 month, so I almost forgot how it looked before I took it out.

Thanks

I took off the green pieces from the old carpet, but I was wondering what kind of stapeler you used to stapel them on to the new carpet. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yeah I've got a lot of material. It was that damn 40oz jute that was a PITA to cut through even with a new knife
