Hello there,

After replacing my shocks/springs recently, the guys told me my rear-left wheel had some... "play" ? I don't know how to say it, but it kinda movies a bit, if you know what I mean.

Today I took it to a guy that knows his stuff, and he fixed a couple of sounds my car had in the front and rear. Amazing how different the car feels by just tightening a few nuts. I don't know my nuts, but he does! :naughty:

Anyways, when he saw my rear-left wheel, he said something like "this thing uses some sort of spherical bushing, you probably wont find it in here".. which sucks. He also noticed I have many bushings missing, AND, he noticed NONE of my shocks actually have some "rubber" that goes around the shock's, around the part that actually goes inside of it when compressed. I didn't even know the shocks needed that thing. It appears my rear-right one is busted, that, or somehow some sort of grease just got in there.

Anyways... is there a site online that sells the bushings or something? :/

Tomorrow I start the 1JZ swap. :) Hope it doesn't give me many headaches...

If the rear wheel has play in it then its a bad wheel bearing. The rear hub has to be pulled off to press the old bearing out & the new one in. You will need inner & outter wheel bearing seals & the bearing. You can get them online from Advanced auto parts etc. Not sure if they ship out of US. As for the bushings I agree with bwest, go to 935. Now the rubber cover for the struts is actualy a bump stop & is dealer only.

I come from a land down under
In the lower pic there are 2 bushings the top one can wear badly giving you the "play" that is often mistaken for sloppy wheel bearings.

The wheel bearings in our cars are very stout pieces and will get noisy beofre you can feel slop in them.

Jack the car up remove the wheel and grab the disc and rock it watching this bush you'll see the play!

Toyota stock these and they're not too expensive.

Everyone mentiones "it's Toyota dealer" parts every once in a while. Sure we have Toyota dealers in here, but those bastards are so expensive. I'd like to see what it costs to buy from a dealer in the US. I don't need anything shipped outside the US, just to Miami, Florida, and I bring them to me along with a lot of other stuff the company I work for imports.

Is there somewhere I can look for the dealer parts online??
