OK here's the deal. I have a 1jz swapped 90 supra that is modded pretty good single turbo 60-1,550 MKIV injectors, MKIV fuel pump,safc,ebc,wideband,....... I love it, but one day I saw a 89 7mgte on craigslist. It was in great condition inside and out completely stock. The only problem was it didn't run. So i bought it for $800 and planned on dropping a engine in it and selling it. But every time I look at it I want to keep it and sell my 1j. I can appreciate a bone stock 7m in bad ass condition. But then I drive the 1j and want too keep it.... I just keep flip flopping on what to do. I would like to keep them both but My girl wouldn't like that much. since I told her the plan was to flip it, and she let me buy it under those conditions:1zhelp:

So let me hear you opinions.

Keep the 7m and give me your 1JZ... :naughty:

Seriously, Is there anything LACKING in your 1JZ build? Something you might have done differently, and can't replace without serious money/time wasting? Multiple choice here....

1: No - Keep the 1JZ. You'll kick yourself HARD for giving it up...
2: Yes - Sell the 1JZ and build the 7m the way you want to build it, or ditch the engine and pop in another 1JZ or even a 2JZ. Whatever curls your nose hairs...
3: Maybe - Keep BOTH cars, the 1JZ as a DD, the 7m as a new money pit. Then correct whatever it is you think might be wrong in your 1JZ or just enjoy it for what it is.

Simple question, simple answer.

1. Is my biggest fear.
2. If I did this I would keep it as close to the original condition as possible , no mods. I would like to do a 2jz for sure, but it wouldn't be for a while. And bye that time I would be ready for a MKIV.:naughty:
3. That can't happen or I would be single. And I kind of like her.

Thanks for your input That #1 really scares me. I have had a couple of cars in my life that never let me down, and I went and sold them. Boy do I regret selling them now.

Put the 1J in the 89 and call it a day?

I would but I don't want to mess with the wiring. I would have to wire the 1j to go into the 89 gte and the rewire the 90 n/a that was wire for the 1j to a 7mgte.:aigo: and wiring is not one of my strengths.

As long as you have a late model 89 everything thing should plug up :)

Good to know. I'll have to research that more. That would be nice. I thought that the n/a and the gte wiring would be different. Thanks for the info.

Well you will have to pull the engine wiring harness for each motor out but the body plugs should be same.

I agree with keeping both and ditch the girl. A Supra is your best friend. Supra will always be there even after she were to leave. Supra>Girl. :evil2:

1. You can really ride that Supra anytime you want
2. You may even find yourself spending less money on the Supra than the girl
3. NO DRAMA (Unless something happens to that 7M, which is likely :3d_frown:)

Only thing is you will get headaches every now and then. Problem is i hope my girl don't see this :1zhelp:

The body plugs is what I was worried about. So you are saying pull the engine with the harness all the way to the ecu. Correct? And then the body plugs should be pnp?

Pretty much. But that all comes down to if you have an early or late model 89
