Help removing RSR GTII muffler

Any one with a R-SR GT II Cat back have any tips on removing the muffler from the pipe..... man that thing is a pain to slip off. just wanted to take it off cause I just got a 3in piece of titanium stock that i want to put in place of the muffler. sound kind of stupid but i wanted to see what it would look like because i burnt the tip too, and my drive way is very steep so an extra inch of ground clearance would be great.

Seriously though, a good penetrant (better than WD-40) and a lot of patience. Another idea is to use the penetrant, let it soak in, remove the springs, slip the silencer in, then rev the engine to high hell. Should blow right the hell off. (Hey, it works for getting the silencer out, right?)
