ok im gonna try and give as much detail as possible. my car is an 89 turbo 5 speed. we had a shutdown at work this last week so i parked my car and didn't go any where really in it. well it sat for a couple days (almost a week) and thursday i got in my car to go to walmart and it started running funny. it would barely idle and it would bog down and almost die. also the past couple days when driving it i noticed that under load but not in boost it studders or misses. once i get in to boost its fine for the most part. sometimes when i boost it will boost then like a little loss of power and then go again. i wouldnt even call it a loss of power. its more like it gets to a point and stays there for a few seconds then goes again. well i ordered new wires and plugs(it neede them anyways). the old plugs were bosch platinums and the wires were the oem ones that were on there when i got the car. i ordered ngk coppers and the standerd wires that o'reileys sells. i was hopin this might help but it didnt. i checked my tps and my iacv according to the tsrm and by my measurements they checked out ok. i have not checked for boost leaks or vack leaks other than a visual check, as i dont have a vac or boost tester.

i hope this gives you guys enough info if you need anymore lmk.
oh also i checked codes and i have none. i have driven the car since i put the new plugs and wires on it but i did start it and it did the same thing. also it starts up and idles fine for like 2 mins then it starts boggin down, or idling low.

thanks for all you help in advance

you can make yourself a boost tester very easily, and it's less than 20 dollars.

go to home depot and get the following.

a pvc end cap

teflon tape

air fitting(that you can attach to air compressor hose)

2 3inch clamps

and a 2.75 inch coupler(if you're running the ct26)

once you have these things, you need to assemble them.

take the pvc end cap and drill a hole in the end, then wrap teflon tape around the threaded part of air fitting, and screw it in.

then take the coupler and attach it to pvc end and fasten with a clamp, and fasten other end of coupler to turbo(in place of the accordian hose)with the other hose clamp.

now you have a boost tester.

takes about 10 minutes to make, and it's easy as pie.

A boost leak at idle shouldn't let your car stall. I have had inter cooler pipes off before and the car did not stall.

I don't think at idle a boost leak will do this.

I would check connectors, vacuum lines, any codes?

This is from personal experience with my Supra's.

ok guys i think i figured it out. i have one of those autometer afg gauges. u know the ones that put on a pretty light show? well i was driving my car today and noticed that the gauge wasnt doing anything at all. well i pulled over in a parking lot and poped the hood and unpluged the gauge and the car perked right up. i should have never gotten that gauge but i had an autozone gift card and bought it anyway. this was before i knew that they were pretty much useless. i havent dirven it much yet just the short drive from the parking lot to my house but its not missing at all anymore. ill drive it around some more ant keep you guys updates if anything changes. im still gonna check a few things out. but the car seems to be running ok now.:icon_bigg
i have a new fuel filter to put on which ill try to get done tomorrowthanks for all the suggestions. and help guys.
