My 86.5 n/a is acting weird and im stumped. Today, i was burping the coolant system and a strange thing happened. The was running great with the temp gauge reading under 1/2 way and then burp! The rad cap was off and all looked alright. Then, i rev`d the motor to 1000 rpms to try to get the coolant to flow faster and then the coolant turned milky brown with a foamy look. At first i shut the car off, and then shouted "Damn a BHG!" I just walked away and went for a walk. I came back and started to survey the damage. No milk in the oil cap, raditor, overflow and no antifreez in oil in oil pan. Then, i started it again with new fluids and nothing wrong. Just for kicks i did a comp test and the average number is 195psi! Please help im comfused! CLIFF NOTES: burping coolant system and coolant turned brown and then went away. Compression test is too high for some reason, avg 195psi. Sorry for my long post, just trying to thougho. Thanx and have a great day. Shelby

The burp is an air pocket. Getting it out is a good thing. The stuff may have simply been contaminates settled in the bottom of the block. Assuming no BHG.

You need to retest compression with a different tester, or a different person doing it.

There are things that can give a higher reason due to engine defects, but most likely is an invalid test.

your post wasn't that long. Someone will generally help you in this forum...., especially after you spend some time here getting to know the members. I read your shit and just didn't simply have a responce. You are in the right place is the best I can tell you. I have a 91 ge 5 spd. We are about to tear into because of bhg. I can tell you that when you break it down you do it to build it back up. My car runs great for a week and breaks down for a month. JUST drive the hell out of it when it's running. That's what makes it worth working on.

I disagree. If you didn't drive the "hell" out of your car, you probably wouldn't be having so many damn problems.

Actually, not really.

I don't get on my car much. When i got to Auto-x's and such i push my car, but never to i truley let her loose.

I still consider my self a newer driver, and theres no reason for me to speed much. I take it to the track.

I do not yet know if they allow access to racing fuel, but we'll be going out there this weekened to see wasup.
