I am only able to run up to 1 or 2 psi!!! I need some wisdom so hook me up PLEASE... other details: the stock BOV is not on the car... set is a Greddy type S BOV and 2 large sized stub bolts that block the path of where the stock BOV used to flow air back into the accordian hose. Has a rather large downpipe leak but I dont think that involves the low bosst problem. Also has a Turbo XS manual bc and i even tried to tune it up, but still... very low boost. Just throw whatever at me and Ill try something out.

are you sure it is the downpipe... or the exhaust manifold?
an exhaust manifold will sound like a really bad exhaust leak. this will dramatically effect your boost... start your car listen around the turbo, rev if you must.

You know what... it could be the exhaust manifold... the whole back portion of the valve cover is basically black due to exhaust gases. I need to check up on this and replace what is needed if necessary... But hey, if it is an exhaust manifold leak, then how bad will it affect boost? Will if affect it so much that you can barely run 1 psi???
your greedy bov not leaking? are there any loose hoses? have u got a smooth idle/loss of any vacuum?
most likely your exhaust manifold was removed recently or not and now it's stripped (i hear its a 50/50 chance it will strip before it even gets to its required torque) it's the prob i have now, if it is indeed stripped and not loose you will need to hellicoil that bad boy.
and yes you will lose boost depending on how bad the leak is.
