So, yesterday I got my exhaust work done. I bought a N1 style muffler and had custom 2.5" piping done from the manifold back. I plan on doing an NA - NA-T over next winter, so custom was the best way for me to go for now. The car is tooooooooo loud. I sound like a ricey honda in disquise. EMBARRISSING!!! :momaru: What can i do to tone it down. It has a resinator between the manifold and muffler. help me out guys

honestly, you're going to sound like crap period with those N1's IMO, but you can try getting a resonator put on and that might help
NA's sound good with the right muffler. I'm still running the same catback on my turbo conversion that I had on before, and the exhaust sounds pretty much the same, except now you can hear the turbo spool and the BPV.....

Im sorry for sounding like an idiot but what is a resonator? Is it a catalytic converter or are they 2 seperate things. If they are seperate you might try putting a high flow cat on
stock, or the HKS exhaust sound GREAT on the NA.

get different exhaust and keep the N1 till u do ur NA-T, when i bought my car it had a straight pipe on it and sounded like a freakin truck. so be happy ur car doesnt sound like a truck on crack.

Open downpipe is mean as hell above 3000rpms on a turbo car, especially if you are using a boost controller and pushing more than 11psi. You will scare the shit outta anyone when you blow past them. LoL I scared myself when I had to re- set up my EVC.

i've yet to hear any supra, N/A or turbo that sounds like "rice", the n/a may sound like shit but i dunno about honda sounding... and the n1 mufflers i've seen on plenty supras and sound deep and throaty
i got a dynomax ultra flow muffler and its loud(but not ricer ear deffining loud) and it has a nice deep tone to it, plus the ultra flow series are awesome for flow
I wouldn'texactly say it sounds like rice. I may have exagerated there a bit. At idle it has the deepest rumble, almost like that of headers on a hemi. and when I matt-it it has a very nice deep tone to. However, when just cruising with rpms between 1500 and 2500 and then feathering the gas it has to be at its loudest point. Does anyone else notice this too. Are you supras really loud when you just tap the gas. the interior noise is insanely loud. I was reading up on a post about throttle cable adjustment. I realized my exhaust seem the loudest when the throttle/gas is at that 1/4 mark were it is really loose. But when i stomp on it were my gas is tight it sounds great. I'm going to adjust it to see if i notice any difference. is it possible that the gas was too loose and sensitive?

the only muffler that sounds good on a n/a is a flowmaster, im running one with 2.5 piping, headers no cat or res. my car is very load but sounds crazy. A flowmaster with a cat is still load(ive heard) but beware flowmasters will drone alot
