so for about the past week my headlights have been working then the othernight i'm driving and nothing. brights work and when the low beams are on the fogs work. i can't seem to find a good schematic of the headlights either. i put a volt meter on the headlight connectors earlier and when they're "on" all three terminals show 12v. when i hit the high beams one of the terminals drops to like 5v. any suggestions or if someone has a good wiring diagram i would greatly appreciate it.

I think we have headlight relays. And we have a few fuses. I would recommend checking your fuses.
Or maybe you headlight switch on the column broke

all the fuses are good, and i can hear the relay clicking when i turn on the headlights. i tried another relay that was know working and still nothing. i should mention that it did this before and then mysteriously started working again

i don't think that there is a break in the wire. i tested the connectors at the headlights themselves. when the switch is on, all three of the terminals are getting 12v. i cant make heads or tails of the wiring diagram that i have and i dont know what they should be at but they are all def getting power. like i said when i hit the high beams one of the terminals drop to around 5v and the highs work just fine

The Supra - like most japanese imports - use a switched ground system for the headlights, as opposed to domestics, that use a switched power system. So looking for power on the headlight terminals is going to be less than effective in most cases. :)

As you've learned, you need to look for ground continuity instead.
