Ok first off my car blew a HG and the engine was wasted due to driving like 10 miles on the BHG at top speed. So I purchased a second supra with no title and swaped the motor out. After completing the swap the new engine would not start. I was getting no fuel so i replaced the fuel pump. Then I was getting no pulse so I checked the Distributor and found the one on the car was not the right one and replaced it now i have pulse and fuel at the rail. If i jump the FP and B+ the pump runs but nothing comes out the return line when i disconnect it and the car will crank and sputter for a few seconds then dies out. Should a ton of fuel come out the return line when the key is on and the FP and B+ is jumped and the car is not running? I need a fuel pressure guage but i do not have one.

Same problem with a member on SF in the mk2 section. This is what the cause was most likely to be.

yup, sounds like the fuel pump isnt producing enough pressure. M supra did this as well, it would idle fine (not much fuel PSI required), but when u hit the acclereator pedal, the engine dies (Not enough fuel PSI)."

I think it is probably your problem aswell. So you might need a new fuel pump.

you really wont get that much fuel pressure out of the rail unless it is running. I went through this before and made things difficult on myself looking for parts I didnt need.

The first thing you should do is re-install the CPS or adjust it. I think it might be a tooth off.

I removed the filter and can blow through it with little to no problem. This all worked fine just 4 months ago. What would happen if i were 180 out on the timing would it back fire sputter or not even try.
