I got the rewire kit from shaeff and in his instructions on step 9 it says "Take the thin black ground wire and find the closest point to ground it to. (I used the grounding point at the back of the intake manifold) Next, ground the two thin black wires under the dash."

so the wire he grounded on the back of the intake, where does that lead to? and when he says ground the two thin black wires under the dash are those the ones running to the ecu?

all grounding wires should be already connected to the re-wire kit.
i would dought the two thin ones would go to the ECU because it says "GROUND the two" the ones said to be grounded need to be grounded and the other wires tapped into the ecu.
i could be wrong, hope this helps.

Ground the grounds... They don't go anywhere, they ground.
What you're doing is grounding the shielding around the wire. It stops interference from making fake signals and tricking the TCCS into thinking a KS is sending feedback.

heh, that's actually my fault. i changed the design a little bit. i must have printed you the old directions. :( i'm an idiot.

anyway, this is how your harness should go:

there is ONE ground wire, it has the crimp on connector on the end of it. find the nearest ground under the dashboard. i used one of the thick bolts for the steel crossmember. ground that to one of those bolts/nuts.

then the two wires that i left stripped for you go to the ECU.

i did this to eliminate ground loops.
