Hello i have a 1987 toyota supra non turbo. I was wondering about lowering my car for handling, and was wondering would lowering my car have a bad effect on my push button suspension from normal to sport mode, because sport mode can have my car lower up to 4 inches on faster turns, and would lowering my car effect this? also if it doesn't have bad effects what are the lowering parts i need to lower my car? could u please help me witht this problem if u can. thank you.

Firs of all, search would help alot!

Your have something called TEMS (toyota electronically modulated suspension IIRC)

And i dont think tems lowers your car 4 inches ;) Lowering the car is not what you want to be worried about performance wise. A stiffer suspension would help with performance, or a full Coilover set up!

How old are the dampers? If they're stockers they won't hold up well to the shorter travel that lowering springs will put it through.

The only performance dampers that I know of that are compatible with the TEMS system are Tokico Illumina's: http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/price/Toyota/Supra_86-92/Tokico/Suspension/Shocks/part/Illumina

Since you have to remove the dampers to swap the springs you might as well put in new dampers (shocks) at the same time.

And PLEASE don't tell us that you're just planning on cutting the stock springs.

Bilsteins with Eibach springs...all the way. Strut bars and poly bushines from suprasport.com also make a big difference. I have my bushings but I havent installed them yet as I am waiting to get a deal on upper A arms.
