Great to see you guys again on SM. I'm going to be ording fluids for the Sup this week, but unsure what to go with. Redline or Royal Purple. After searching I hear great things about both, but nothing specific for a 7MGE with auto trans. I'm going to change all the fluids in the car, and would prefer to stay with one brand through out the driveline.

Are most of you guys using straight redline or royal purple in the rear diff, or mixing it?
How does the redline or RP perform on the auto trans? Are you using the redine MT90 or is there something special for autos?
What engine oil do you prefer? Is the redine oil any good for the price?

Any input will be great.

Thanks

Portland
Motor Oil- Valvoline Durablend
Auto Trans- Valvoline High Mileage when i first got it, Royal Purple fromnow on
Diff- Royal Purple with Ford Motorsports addative

some show on the speed channel took a truck that they go offroading in, changed all fluids to Royal Purple and gained 24hp.

You're going to get a lot of different replies here, but all i'm going to say is, royal purple everything. i hang on royal purple's nutsack. i had rp everywhere in my old 89', and i never had any poblems. smoother shifts and no clunky cold weather start-up shifting at all. engine and rear-end seemed to love it as well. royal purple has less of a hot/cold viscosity change than many other performance oils, so in essence, it is superior in that respect.

i wouldn't advise you to use redline in your tranny. the stuff causes seal swelling, which = very bad.

Thanks guys. I seems that most people like the royal purple over redline. Has anyone ever heard or know about this Fusion product. It was featured in to top secret G35 coupe, but it's hella expensive. I'll try to look for the name and web site of the product.

supraguru, how does it perform in the tranny. As others have posted it causes seal swelling. How long have you had it in the tranny. When I searched most people seem to be using it throuout their car. Decisions, Decisions.....Don't know what to do.

Amsoil.....I'll say no more !
What he (^) said. I've got Redline MT90 in my 5 sp., though. You really can't go wrong with Amsoil, RL or Royal Purple. Motul is obviously some good stuff (never used it, though), though the downside there is that it's a French company. You guessed it-fuck the French.

I'm not a real big Amsoil fan. They claimed they are the best motor oil for all and commercial vehicles. I signed up so I can get a discount on 10 gallons of diesel motor oil for my 7.3L International powered Ford (ITS THE FAMILY VEHICLE) and the oil didn't work any better than the Chevron Delos 400 I was using. So I'm stuck using the remaining 7 gallons in my 4Runner. Advertising isn't always the straight facts. That's why independent head to head testing is good. Mobil1 is on top for gas motor oil. So I would assume they probably make good other oils too.
