Well as the title says my car wont start. It is COMPLETELY dead. I hit the button on my remote to unlock the doors and it didn't even beep. Unlocked the door with the key and jumped in; starter doesn't click, lights wont turn on. I took a voltage reading off my battery to several different grounding points and all were about 10 volts which is quite low. Is it just that my battery is no good or do I have a bigger issue? I would think with around 10 volts the lights would turn on and be dim at least. My car is a jza70 by the way if that makes a difference. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Not yet my buddy is on his way over with a set of jumper cables but I'm not sure how long he will take and I can't seem to find the set that I have. could it be the main fuse in the fuse panel causing everything to just not work?

Last time I drove it was this afternoon which is why I am leaning away from it being a dead battery cause I've never seen a battery go dead that fast before.

Hook up the jumper cables. And hold the gas a little on the other car for a few minutes to give you battery a better charge.

I would try push starting it if there wasn't a foot of snow outside and still snowing like crazy. I believe the battery hasn't been replaced in a long time. Its an old lead-acid type that came with the car when it was imported from japan. Any advice on a good battery to run?

EDIT: I'm sure I have yet to see many things. I'm only 19

The point is just because you haven't seen something is no reason to dismiss it.

Charge the battery. Assuming it comes up enough to start the car test the charging system. If that's OK you might have a bad door switch or maybe you didn't close the door all the way and left the lights on. Or maybe the battery has simply gone tango uniform. With that voltage it could have a dead cell. It's called "battery" for a reason you know ;)

Only way to know for sure is to charge and then test but based on what you said about it's age I'd be getting a new one...

So my buddy came and jumped me so I drove it around a bit, we went and grabbed coffee, came out and nothing again. So tomorrow I'll go buy an Interstate MTP and see how that goes. Thanks everybody!

Well it looks like you just made 50 bucks. Bought an Optima red top today and tossed her in and shes golden again. Only problem I have now is that my e-fans don't always want to turn off...any ideas on that?
