So i got this 89 supra turbo, the thing is that every time i stab it then throw it in neutral the idle goes all the way down to 0 and it dies. Im thinking a leak somewhere, dont know where to start. Someone point me in some kind of direction, im kinda lost.

oh and for some odd reason the check engine light comes on after sitting for a while and goes away after about 10 mins of driving.

and one of my heater hoses that connects to the heater valve just cracked.

just thought id tell you all the things that have been happening. :icon_mad:

Ive heard of some other peoples do this and mine did this as well.. I had to feather the accelerator to keep it from stalling after a bit of gas. Never found out the problem, so :1zhelp:

The CEL is coming on because the ECU has detected a problem...the TRSM outlines the procedure for pulling the code. That will get you pointed in the right direction.

use the link in my sig to check your codes. my bet, large vaccuum leak, atmospherically vented blow off valve not adjusted properly, or the TPS is out of adjustment.

The stock bpv was broken in my case, but as far as ive gone in inspecting things ive come up with no loose, cracked, or rotted hoses. Ill inpect further into the problem though. Also theres no codes.

And what is the CEL?

Check Engine Light
Also check all the hose clamps on the intercooler piping and the couplers. Especially the throttle body coupler.

All the couplers were tight and 3k pipe to thtbody coupler is soft and no cracks or leaks.
I'll check the tps today to see if its working correctly.
Thanks :)
