help camshaft caps torque?7mgte :(

i need help i have a noise coming for the head i'm think it has to do with the torque on the camshaft bearing caps does anyone know the spec ? someone toed me 7-8 lb then someone said 14lb which is it ?

Poodles,go to pg EM-63,there is a different sequence,the one you posted is for actually checking clearances with plasti-gauge,not just tightening the cam caps.

i had a similar noise, i told my machinist that i thought the cam cap was shagged, he laughed at me and told me to check the clearance between the shim and the cam @ 0 lift, i found a 0.25mm gap (using a feeler gauge)

i pin pointed mine by holding the engine @ 2000rpm while listening with a large screw driver on the rocker cover...

pull the cam and have it measured for run out, a warped cam will open up the caps and makes a hell of a racket (think ear on diesel cam cover). Check the cap scoring is it centered?
