My brother's new band just made it into the finals for a local competition in Detroit (only 5 bands made it). Up for grabs is $10,000 and studio time! You can listen to the songs on the website posted, if you scroll down a little bit you'll see a big "Vote HERE" poll. PLEASE VOTE for Ghosts of August with their song Rise.

The other bands kinda suck so they have a pretty good margin right now but every vote counts! They could really use the money, my sister just found out she was pregnant (woot, im an uncle finally)! So now they need it even more.

If you want I could probably get him to send me an MP3 version. And yes the 2nd place is pretty good too, i find i move a lot more to the beat and chorus of the Ghosts of August song though. I keep listening to it and it just gets better lol

I didn't have time to listen, but I voted for them since you asked so nicely Uncle Iwantmkiii. I don't see them standing much chance of losing with 66% of the votes.

im not really sure how much impact the voting has on the final decision? Or if it is the final decision? Dunno, but don't want to take a chance, put yourselves in their shoes....you want every possible vote.

Give it a couple listens later...definatley worth it

Drummer.

He's been in a lot of bands. One of them actually produced a FANTASTIC CD, i still listen to it all the time for years and years now, never seems to get old, but they broke up shortly after it was released. something to do with the singer being a dic or drugs or something i don't really know. If anyone would be interested in hearing that CD i have it in MP3 format.

Edit: Im uploading themto filecrunch.....i will make another thread as its a different band. Similar level of rock/metal though nothign hardcore like slipknot things like that, more like tool/a perfect circle/disturbed type

It's the first one, the Thrash metal one in Alabama. I'm not a huge fan of their singing. They have just changed their music on there. The singers mother just died, and he did nothing but write for a week or so. It has a bit more angst in it. The sad thing is, when he sings, he's really good.
