2j and cheap dont mix, 1jz swap could cost half as much or maybe even less.

im assuming you mean aristo? you can use the harness in a sense but either way there isnt much a point if you already have everything for the aristo engine - you will need a usdm ECU (maf, aristo is MAP) maf sensor usdm water pump not too big of a difference but it is like taking a step back for no reason when people usually convert to a map....

you might be thinking of a 1jz harness on a 2jz engine? using 1jz electronics? it will be about plug and play then but you will need something to take care of fuel when you are running a 2.5l ecu setup on a 3.0l engine

if you want to do this the *cheap* way i say do a 1jz because you can have money left over and make it faster... i say the same thing time and time again though,.. and later use a 2jz block to have a 3.0l car and if you can buy a 2jz head later on go for it.

look over my build thread it will give you an idea i think... putting a 2jzgte into my 89T

im curious as to why though =/ if he already had everything from the aristo there isnt much of a point... body connections will still be completely different better to just pay someone to do the wiring for the aristo to work (at least i tell myself that ;))

I'm not sure what you mean. I simply answered his question of what ECU will work with the US MKIV 2jz harness.

You can use the aristo harness if you want. Just have to extend it and rewire it. The rewiring is fairly extensive and you have to add quiet a few wires in. The USDM 2jz harness is much easier are has a better layout to be easily adapted to the MKIII, not to mention doesn't need to be extended.

i don't have anything yet... just looking for options,

you can find aristo engines (no harness or ecu) cheep .... so if you could patch together the rest you could save some $

keep an eye out on SF for USDM harneses.. some times they pop up for fairly cheap.. Most of the time they're ~ $500. They're 700-800 new from the dealer IIRC.

my father works for toyota, so i was hoping that it could be done cheeper, by using new usdm parts.

will usdm harness conectors work on a jdm 2j---- except for the MAP

it should work but my point is on both cars the body connections are different from the mkiii its just a matter of if you want to rewire the mkiv harness or the aristo harness to work with your mkiii and use maf or map, correct me if im wrong :p

if you can get the individual connectors for a good price now That is worth doing because i had to replace quite a few on my aristo motor (Map sensor connector and Coil clips always break and most of the twin turbo connectors were almost mush from the heat but i was going single) and i didnt pay a discounted price :(

curious about how well the injectors would work since the aristo has high imp 440's and the usdm supra has the low imp 550's right? (or was it the other way around?)

..USDM harness = ~$750+ (best discount I've ever seen, I don't think an employee will get much better than that) and Aristo harnesses are almost given away by the MKIV people who've gone N/A to TT.

There are only a handful (~20) of wires to worry about to integrate into an MKIII. If you want to spend the money right, then buy an Aristo harness (~$20-$100) depending on fool selling it (I got 2 extras for ~$20 each).

Then, send to Dr. Tweak (here on the forums) and you will have a plug-n-play harness for your swap for ~$500..... I can't speak for him, but the reviews I've seen mean that it's guaranteed to work right. I've seen his auctions on Ebay and it may even be cheaper (and he's a stand up guy).

ECUs are fairly interchangeable and a US one will cost you $200+ (Aristo, maybe $100 at most... I got 2 of 'em for about $20 each)

Aristo harness, ECU, and Dr. Tweak to configure it right (for your swap)...easily around $600 tops. Buy a USDM Harness, ECU, MAF, etc...$1000+

Extra ~$400 can go towards single kit, IC, FPR, silicone coolant hoses, motor mounts, etc, etc, etc
