I just recently bought a nice Supra MkIII from a local guy here in Richmond and am signing on to different boards to learn more about my purchase. First off, she's an '88 Supra Turbo with:

1: intercooled turbo-charged 7M-GTE
2: TEMS
3: ECT
4: automatic
5: overdrive
6: cloth interior
7: Polk Audio speakers all-around
8: Eclipse CD5030 (replaced an Alpine unit that came with the car)
9: VSX Racing 18" wheels / Kumho tires (still have factory wheels)

Yeah, I got lucky with those. The guy I got the car from had just put those on and redid all the brakes and pads. So naturally she squeals like a pig when hitting the brakes, but other than that she runs like a champ. I have a slight hesitation off the line, but once she kicks the turbo in it'll fly.

I also need to check the speedo cable as it will bounce until I reach 40 MPH (a minor annoyance). She also shows like she's toed-in on the tires, so a front-end alignment is in order. The head gasket has not been replaced (everything on the engine is completely stock), looking to do that as a preventative measure, but not sure though if I want to do factory thick metal hg or 1.2mm metal hg yet, probably the 1.2mm. Then to cool her down, replacing the rad with a 3-core aluminum one, the mech fan with an electric one, an additional automatic tranny cooler (necessary), and possibly an oil cooler to go with it, followed by a carbon fiber hood later down the line. Of course, if I do all that, I've got to upgrade the intercooler with aluminum piping, upgrade the turbo, improve wastegate flow, and replace everything from the manifold back to the rear with proper exhaust. THEN there's the turbo timer, other computer adjustment controllers, a partridge in a pear tree...... Yike. :aigo:

Thanks! I work from 12 mid to 8AM most nights so I can usually fit time in during the day for stuff. I'll be looking into doing my headgasket soon (not dead yet, but always a factor in these Supras I've heard...), and will need someone who knows their way around this 7M-GTE to help with the install. I'll get in touch with you soon so we can meet up and exchange ideas! :biglaugh:
