As the title says, hello all. I'd like to thank you in advance for welcoming me to you're community.

I usually prefer to keep introductions of this sort short, so here we go.

I'm Donnie, from Chicago. Collector of useless knowledge, UTI student, former Toyota Sales then Service employee and all around tinkerer.

Have always been a fan of of MKIII Supras, and finally got a chance to steal one for pocket change. 1988, 7MGE, 5sp, Targa, 163k on the clock, 30k on the bottom-end. Absolutely MINT interior, straight but rough exterior. Some mechanical and electrical problems.

Was working on getting it back to fully road-worthy. Until one of it's maiden voyages with me to pick up some parts from my former employers at the dealership, ended with it getting hit by a gentlemen running a Red. Which lead it to becoming a Jack-stand/Garage whore until the Financial end of the accident is cleared up. Which is where things stand today.

...In retrospect, that wasn't so short.

In my best Rene Zelleweger, "you had me at mint interior...":naughty:

LOL. Welcome and good luck with both parts of getting this project back to worthy status.

So how bad is the damage? a few of us have saved a supra.

Nothing TOO horrible. For whatever reason, my body felt as if it had bore the brunt of things. ("Severe Whiplash", Etc.)

The Front Fenders were pushed to right, The hood was warped a wee bit, and forced out of alignment. Hood latch was broken. Fog lamp and Chin spoiler mountings got thrashed. Lower Bumper cover, Chin spoiler and one of the grills were torn to shreds and/or destroyed. Last, but not least, the Impact Absorber was torn to the Backing in some places.

Mostly a bunch of remounting Originals, Replacing the Destroyed and Paint. Via Bodyshop, damage was estimated at about $2k. However, when the criminal case went to court for the man who ran the red, it was thrown out. He lied about his light being red, and since it was the word of the Prosecution and I, V his lies.

Now, I've been having some difficulty in dealing with his Insurance. And since I'm recently unemployed, I obviously don't have too much free money to invest in procuring my replacement stuff. Certainly far from unsavable.

(Picture of Hood/Left Fender. Uploader is having trouble chewing on the money shots of the damage.)
*Note, pic is with hood latched.
