of some of you might know, i've been on supramania for some time now, but i never did an intro. My name is Josh. i own a 86.5 supra hardtop. I bought it for 3250 with taxes and everything. and it is handsdown the cleanest i have ever seen. all my pics are in a gallary. i have always been a fan of supras for as long as i can remember. (i'm 18 now) i can remember hen i painted the mkiv emblem on my wall in middle school. i know overboard right? I have had my supra for almost 2 years now, and in those two years i've had some interresting things happen. lots of problems. well this is my story, of not just my supra, but what happened also in that time. So here is is, i ended up getting the knock about a week before thanksgiving last year. so i parked it. every day reved it, got my daily dose, and moved on. day after thanksgiving, lost my job. from thanksgiving till x-mas, i drove my brother's v-6 mustang. i felt home-sick. and about x-mas time. then i drove nothing. around that same time, i finally got enough money to buy just a 7m-ge. that weekend, turns out that the urge of just reving it everyday wasn;t enough. took it for a drive. and drove it HARD. about 2 minutes into my drive, i shot the #5 rod into my oil pan creating a 2 inch hole in it. if you think that is bad, i put nuerous 1 inch wholes in the CAST IRON block. new years, broke up with my girlfriend. new years day, towed my supra to the mechanic. it took the engine till mid january to get here from canada. my birthday is in the beginning of january, no supra to drive. the mechanic started putting the engine in, realized that it was a cresida engine. needed new parts. coundn;t use my old stuff. oil pick up was completely kinked shut from the rod hitting it. and oil pan. R.I.P. whole oil system was shot cause of the tiny shards of cast iron on the oil. the oil felt grainy like there was sand in it. so another 2 weeks to get everything ordered and shipped. i finally got my car back about the 19th of febuary. first day driving it, due to the crappy cleaning of the coolant system from the sellers, the rust particles in my engine, clogged my radiator and blew it to hell. the whole top part of the radiator was blown up. the anti-freeze was red. that was monday. i ended up getting it fixed by that friday. that saturday, the guys at sears gave the a battery with the terminals in the front so it started grounding off my hood. ended up blowing my starter. keep in mind, this is the weekend after i got it back. replaced the starter and battery that sunday. and up untill about this past halloween, i was having cooling problems. the anti-freeze was red. and that was with constant cleeaning with coolant cleaner. it was red for 6 months. pretty much the only thing original on the engine is the internals. the whole cooling system has been changed. AND finally, my car is running like the beast it should be. so all in all, i was without my supra, for 3 and a half months. and during that time, everything went to crap. So there is is. sorry for being so long, but putting it all behind me, its quite funny i think now.
