headlights!

my head lights dont work right. i leave them unplugged but if i plugged the in their wired backwards of something..i turn them on and they flip down and turn on. if i turn them off they flip up but the lights turn off. wheres the first place to start? or what can i do?

On top of the headlight motor/gearbox (just to the inside of each headlight), there's a rubber cover. With the headlights up & off, pull the cover off, and turn the knob until the headlights are all the way down. It will take quite a few turns for each. Then plug them back in and try the headlight switch.
