headlight switch on coulum with headlight/wiper switch has been replaced before bc the dimmer switch failed, i replaced it with a operating headlight/wiper switch. everything worked great, then i later replaced the sealed beam headlights with HID 35w 6000k ballasts and bulbs. they worked fine for a while but i had a bit of a problem with the ground wire on the HID wiring harness. NP tighten the ground bolt. then started having problem with the headlights coming on when the headlights where up but the switch was on the first click (closest to "OFF") now my problem has come to all the clearance and running lights along with headlights will turn on at any "click" on the headlight/wiper combination on the coulum. besides "OFF", if the lights where "on" then when i switch to "OFF" they'll still stay on up to 1-2 mins (not timed just my guess on time elapse) then they'll retract and turn off, also the dash lights will flicker just as the headlights turn off.

What i have done

-tried a different combination coulum switch
-visually inspected the headlight control relay(internally, took it apart)
-checked all fuses and relays (inside and out of the vehicle)
-put the halogen bulbs back in

mods to the vehicle electric system
-fog light mod

that's a weird one. my passenger headlight just started winking at people. it randomly goes up and down. if i figure out what it is, i'll post it. it might be related to what's going on with yours.

After you see where the power is coming from, you might see what Poodles is saying. The integration relay is being goofy. That is assuming you aren't feeding it lies. (wiring)

Turbo Habanero try unplugging the horn next to the booster and see if your lights work properly, I know it sounds strange but I had a shorted horn that was giving me all kinds of lighting problems.

bump, i know its been over a year since this thread has been discussed, but now i am having the same problem, i always have to remove/plug the headlight relay in just to use my headlights or itll drain the battery as its always on in any switch position. i tried replacing the headlight relay, integration relay, and even the steering column switch, nothing seems to have changed it. the horn by the brake booster has already been removed, what could it be, please let me know guys it will help out a lot, thanks!
