In my service manual I noticed it said to put silicone at the front of the headgasket about where the lower timing cover goes. I bought the manual after i had already done the HG and was wondering if this is why my car leaks a shit ton of oil... I was thinking it was the front main, now not so sure. Anyone?

Depends on your technical term of "shit ton"... yes, it will leak fairly significantly from where the head meets the block/timing cover. Enough to coat the undercover, PS pump, water pump outlet, oil pan, etc. in <1000 miles.
