Head torque sequence question.

Well I have babble with this for awhile and wanna see if anyone has done what I did too. According to Haynes you start the torquing sequence on the outer corner studs then work to the middle. On TSRM it starts from the middle out. Not trusting Haynes I went the TSRM way.

Could it have been done (torqued) either way? Just wandering which source you guys used.

ALL heads are torqued from the middle out. You must have misread the Haynes manual.

Definitely middle out. Corners in and I think the material can effectively "bind" on itself.

Nice. K thanks.. after carefully reading Haynes again I see that the only sequence they should was the removal of the head and not the install. That is were I misread it. Still they are short on information on the 7M. Only diagrams and full description was on the 5M motors. Well I'm only one more heat cycle away from my retorque.:icon_bigg.


PS. Just picked up a clean title 85 supra L-trim, black exterior and interior with only 57,000 oringinal miles. We just broke its back seat virginity on 10/23/09 :naughty:
