Although i have seen a post where they calculated what HG size to use with the amount that was milled off the head, i can t seem to find it, so forgive me, anyhow

i had my head milled to an RA of 12 and .009 was removed, and the height of the head is now 4.557 (it seems someone previously did machine work, the exhaust side studs were helicoiled... adn 4.557...do I need to worry?), any help would be appreciated, thank you

Another question while i have this thread opened, after i finish putting her all together, about how long/many miles is considered a heat cycle to crack the bolts and re-torque?

And should my initial and final torque be the same value ( roughly 80ft/lbs with MOly lube), anything on what size gasket i need ? I am not sure of the original height.

Standard head height is 116mm (4.567 in). So by my calcs you have removed .0099 in.So it looks like you don't have any previous resurfacing on the head.

The stock HG is somewhere between 1 and 1.3mm (I've seen different answers bouncing around). Using my calipers it measures around 1.3mm, but I'm sure it compresses somewhat.

The standard Cometic is .051" (1.3mm) and you have removed 0.2mm, so you need somwhere between 1.2 and 1.5mm. Personally, I think the standard 1.3mm will work for you, but you don't say how much came off the block?
