I just got some cash ($4k) to spend on the Supra. What are the best bank for the buck mods?
Currently I am stock w/ a Tanabe DP, Titan CAT and Tanabe catback.

Goal: Daily vehicle, nothing major. Must be fun on the Canyons.

"Required" items:
Suspension: The STOCK ones are still on the car... lol. Eyeballing Tein SS and Flex... leaning toward the SS w/ mounts but the price is almost the same as the Flex... d'oh! I also can get some dusty new TRD ones cheap... so I may swing that way instead.

Turbo Rebuild: I have no clue how it lasted 140k, but it needs a rebuild. Planning to have it upgraded to a 50-1.

Chassis/Suspension Bushings: The vehicle creeks like there's no tomorrow. Recommendations?

----

With the remaining 2000 or so (I can put some extra out if needbe), what should I get done ? I think most people would recommend the fuel system upgrade and fuel management... but I want to leave it open to suggestions

Thank you,
Jeff

I think MDC Motorsports does the turbo upgrades. Their on here in the vendors section. I would probably go with a maft-pro or something along that line. I went with the lexus afm, walbro 255 fuel pump and 550 injectors. I've heard good things out of the maftpro though. You'll still need to do the 550's and the fuelpump, but not the lexus afm. I also bought a new intercooler from BigAaron. He is at www.driftmotion.com and he is also on here. I think the intercooler is like $230.00 and he will sell you new i.c. piping and couplings also. Great guy to deal with. Also alot of guys recommend that you get a new aeromotive fpr. I bought mine from horsepowerfreaks.com, but I think MDC sells these also............Good luck, and keep us posted............lol

As I just was taught this , If you upgrade the turbo, you should upgrade the fuel system and get some management in there like an Safc-2 or Maft- Pro. For example the prev owner of my 89 Turbo upgraded alot of things however left out the Fuel system and management part. He believed the car to have about 300hp however the upgrades with some better management and tuning could change that to 350hp. As I search and read this site I am leaning alot of great information..

Good Luck! I wish I had 4k to spend on my Supra.!!!

I have the SafcII, and the apexi avcp-r, but I think the Maft-pro can do what both of these do, if you have the right attachments...........gl

The work will be done by Driftmotion. Just wondering what parts should be in line =P I gotta call Jose later today to schedule it... I was driving my friend's 240sx around and it just made me say "FK IT, Let's pour some money into the Supra" haha... I also have a light weight flywheel and trd clutch ready to go in.

Make sure you replace all your fluids with high quality stuff like Redline or some more respected brands. Clutch, brake, transmission, rearend.....etc

definately do the required maintenance or any mod you do to the motor wont mean squat. ive seen many posts on owners who install expensive add-on's or kick-ass turbo's on 160k motors and wonder why the motor blew. then they whine and say Supra's are crap. NOT COOL fix the car so it can HANDLE all the new ponies, and you'll be better off.

The maintenance has already been done. A full 90k service pending brake and trans fluids. External drivebelts are still ok, but those are sitting and waiting to be installed once everything else is completed.

What's the recommended (STOCK) tire size? i have some tiny looking tire/wheels (215?... 40 r 17?.... lol) so I'll need to get that done also. I may have a set sitting around at work waiting for me =O
