I'd like to make it so that the alarm will go off if someone tries to jack up the car, tow it, or smashes a window. I really hate aftermarket alarm systems though, as they are generally either crap, or require a ton of wiring and alot of time to install (or they are both). I was thinking about adding a sensor to the factory alarm, maybe making it so that it works through one of the door trigger wires. Before I try reinventing the wheel is there anyone else who's done this already?

Yes. It's easy. Just wire it to a trigger input. Another mod is to rewire the alarm to inhibit the fuel pump rather than the starter. Also easy.
or go get a nice Viper(or any other Directed Electronics) system, take it to a pro install shop, and be done with it. you can even get a remote starter/alarm combo w/turbo timer!
