Ok my 88 is about impossible to start when cold. I've cracked a fuel line and jumped the fuel pump, got plenty of fuel to the injectors. Checked spark with a nifty little spark tester, got spark on all six. I'd check codes but the light doesn't flash. I've tried the old carburetor trick of pumping the throttle while cranking and that worked for about a week. I've given it a shot of ether and it wanted to start but wouldn't.
From my under standing the fuel pump doesn't work til the engine is cranking, so it doesn't prime the system. I got the bright idea of jumping the fuel pump, let it prime the system for about a minute or so and then try to start it. That worked after a couple tries. Got a new fuel filter but haven't gotten around to changing it since I may end up having to replace a fuel line when I do and I don't really feel like opening that bag of worms just yet.
The car runs like a champ if you can just get it to start. I did bypass the neutral start switch shortly before all this started happening back in November, but I don't see how that would be related to this.
Any ideas or suggestions, maybe something I haven't thought of?
