Hey all, I have an H.I.D. out, and I know it isn't the bulb, b/c I switched the bulbs and the same one was out. Any ideas where to start?
You'd be better off with some good halogen highs then, IMO.Doward;1153657 said:What I'm thinking is having 4 lights: Outers as lows only, inners as highs only.
Agreed.Poodles;1153665 said:HID's aren't instant on, and don't like to be cycled quickly.
So have either bi-xenons or HID low beams with halogen high beams that also keep the low beams on.
I guess it wouldn't be terrible to flick the highs off, but in a case where you'll be changing from highs to lows at all, I'd recommend a bixenon housing, as it's the shield that moves, so the bulb stays ignited no matter what.Doward;1153746 said:I don't cycle my lights. Hi beams are used only in the dead of night through the forest and backroads
That wouldn't surprise me. You're supposed to leave HID's on for a decent amount of time for the bulb to burn off, otherwise, those are the contaminants you see inside.rakkasan;1154019 said:Speaking of them not liking to be cycled quickly, I think that part of the reason mine failed so quickly was due to the factory alarm activating a couple of times, causing the headlights to flash rapidly......

i am assuming there is a practical reason for not liking it.
