Gutting Cat on stock DP

start hammering away at the inside.

just cut the exhaust off before that cat and have an exhaust shop weld up a new one. that what i did, real cheap and efective.

How about you dont destroy the cat, and get a new one. That way, when a Democrat is president again, and he makes you smog your car like kalifornia, you can just put the stocker back on.

My advise do NOT gut the cat!

The reason has nothing to do with the environment or any of that nonsense.

Take a REAL GOOD look at the cat.

See how it gets wider in the middle and then goes back to the normal diameter on the exit? Well that getting wider in the middle without anything there (ie cat is gutted) actually introduces MORE turbulance than if the cat is there. Why? Because of the bigger area inside the cat, the exhaust gas MUST slow down.

I already told you, just take the elbow off and run it straight out the back of the turbo... it's not like you need your harness/whatever else is anywhere remotely near that area. :nono: Problem solved, no restrictions.

when i put my motor back in... i just never put the stock downpipe back on... just ran turbo elbow only... bit loud... but the turbo sounds bad ass.

ive got an hks dp and 3 inch back now
