a few days ago i turned my lights on and immediately shorted out the dimmer switch. The guage lights, cigarette lighter, climate control lights, and unfortunately AVC-R all went out. the climate control lights only come on when the headlights are off and the cigarette lighter only works when the headlights are on. The AVC-R and guage lights don't work at all. I got a new dimmer swith in working condition from one of our fellow members, but when i plugged it in the AVC-R still didn't come on...i dont want to turn my lights on in fear that i will short this new dimmer out as well. i checked the "guages" fuse and it's fine. is there another fuse/relay that controls all of these that may have shorted as well?

i would just go and do a quick check of all the fuses. if that dosnt work i would start looking at what i had changed just before the problume happend, and check to make sure u wire the dimmer correctly
i'll look over all the fuses again, it was getting kinda dark the first time i looked. i wish i could re-trace my steps back, but unfortunately nothing was done to the car before this happened. just simply turned the lights on and whammo! blue smoke. thanks for the suggestions
