i was thinkin when the hg and piston went and the motor was crankin fast it burned out the starter again. i just want some other opinions as to what could be wrong.... thanx

dont rull out the starter, like anything it can go bad when ever it feels, also is your timing correct? like an old v8 off timing can make it hard to start.

jump boxes tend to charge VERY slow. Mine usually takes 10 hours to complete charge the battery at 10 amps.

But yeah if it's out of phase 180 degrees, it'll NEVER start. Maybe backfire or cough a few times, but that's about it.

also even a couple plug wires crossed, first time i cranked up mine, it had 3 wires crossed, man that was fawkin interesting, but yea 180 out will make for a fun time starting.

i think you need to go over each system 1 x 1 to verify all his hooked up, and ck the starter at a parts store, and re verify the timing is correct.

let us know how it is going.

yes, line up the timing marksunder pully and cams the cams are straigt up.ok remove your cam position cencer and ckeck that you have a drill notch lining up with the pin.thats it just make shure it dosent advance a tooth or retard a tooth with then be off bu t will start.ok so you said new piston? did you hone or oil the sleave? if not remove spark plug and ad motor oil on the piston just a1/2 cap full. remember to double check the plug gap very im portant.

If it's cranking slow, I'd say (in order of likeliness, IMO)

1. Not enough charge (what kind of bench charger? those are usually really slow and won't work to jump a car) Either let it charger overnight, try a new battery, or try actually jumping it with another car

2. Shot starter

3. Bad wiring (not delivering enough amps)
