And also, I'm leaning more towards a gt4088r now =/

that should net you some good power with a good tune, plus spool up would be great for a turbo that size, i know my friends non-bb 40-88 spools 14-16psi under 4K.

The 4088 is a good choice for the 1JZ, I know many members on here prefer the precision GT4088 over Garrett's because precision offer's the smaller a/r's and runs a bigger comp a/r versus Garrett's. A regular 4088 would do the trick, I also suggest looking at a 61-63mm T4 from Precision. I know BecauseICan(owner of BIC) made good numbers with his SP61GT DBB with his 1JZ.

Yea, it'll be a precision gt4088r if I do go with it - with an .85ar.

btw, where abouts in FL are you?

I'm in the CFL area, Clermont to be exact, I'm a veteran of Supraforums, I just don't post here alot but I do read up a lot concerning the 1JZ. That combo sounds great for a street setup with some pull up top. It will wake up nicely with cams too as the 1J is a whole new beast with aftermarket cams going in. :) I would also add a Borg Warner/Bulleye Power S362 and S364 to that list, you can get them in .83 T4 (V-band discharge) Twinscroll. The GT4088R runs a 64.5 comp wheel so the S364 would be closest to it.

GT4088R 1JZ?

Mine didn't hit 15psi until about 4600rpm with cams, and .81 A/R.

On my 1.5, it's BAD-ASS. 18psi by 4k.

lol. That would be impressive if the ball bearing made that much of a difference. Maybe I should try one for the hell of it.

Be my test dummy yo. :biglaugh:

I really really suggest going with better engine management, my brother is having major problems running his safc2 on 680s on 67mm turbo.

I have pretty much the same setup as you and on 17-18 psi, which is what I daily drive my car at, I make 452 rwhp. I have the crower 272 small core cams that Zazzn sells and I love them. I dont' start making boost until 3500 rpm, but it hits hard at 3500 rpm. I don't really know when full boost hits, but I know it can't be more than 4500 rpm because it only takes about a second to hit.

Here's an in car video of mine that Jugodegolf took. I wasn't winding the gears out like I would if I'd been racing someone, but I was just showing him what the 1j could do. My speedo wasn't working at the time, and you can barely see the tach.........sorry.

I was on a SAFC-II as well, and I couldn't ever get the power out of it I needed due to pulling so much fuel. It was really messing with my timing. When I went to the Stinger standalone, I picked up a hundred horsepower and torque between 4000- 5000 rpm over what I made with the SAFC-II. I only picked up 37 peak numbers at the same boost level, but I don't think I could have ever made 543rwhp without the standalone. Just my two cents worth.
