So just took the stock bumper off my car and noticed that there are a lot of mounting holes that holds stock bumper into place. None hardly at all for greddy style from shine. How have you guys fitted this to the bumper. Pictures diagram anything would help. Thanks

What year is your car?

and most bumpers are not plug and play, you need to get our a drill and create some mounting points.

My lip had no holes at all.

Time to learn how to install a bumper.

most replica bumpers, or cheaper ones require you to make custom mounts, its not that hard.

My kaminari sides and rear fit like a glove, of course they were real and rather expensive when they were made. My front end I had to make all of the mounts myself since its a cheaper bumper.

Don't bump your own thread every few minutes, people need time to reply.

The greddy style front bumper is based of the 89+ style as well, so it's going to be a bit odd. Most aftermarket bumpers don't mount with as many points as they're usually much lighter. You really should make supports for them though.

Hey guys Just wanted to know if the bumper support is the same or different on the 88 vs. 89+. I just got the shineauto greddy style front bumper for my 88 and the only mounting points is the two on each side that go into the fender. There are no mounting points on the greddy bumper that go onto the bumper support like the factory bumper. So what have you guys done to get this bumper to hold on solid. Even making brackets seems to make it solid but there is no where to even mount brackets to the greddy bumper. Thanks

Didn't know there were rules about posting threads. It blows my mind about how people spend more time telling people how asking a stupid question or posting something that has already been posted vs. just answering the question. If you don't want to help me then don't wear your fingers out by typing something that doesn't even apply to the post.

I dont understand why you need to make several threads about the same question, all it dose is clutter up the forum.

Also you question has already been answered in the last thread ;)

You know I'm not on here to bicker back in forth about a stupid post. I'm on here to get info about car that can help me and to help others if I can. The one word answers do nothing for me. Different how. Like different the 88 bumper support won't work with the greddy bumper or it will work but this is how etc.... This was the same with my previous post. I asked how to make it work with the greddy bumper and I get drill holes make a bracket. This stuff I all ready know. I wanted to see pictures of people's bumper that have done this to help me get a visual idea what I need to do to make brackets for a bumper when I see no where to mount them. So no my question wasn't answered. I searched for 4 hours last night on the net and the only thing I found that that could some what help me was the cherry widebody bracket that he made for his bomex bumper.

I took mine to the body shop, and he drilled several holes across the top of my bumper support and secured the bumper with self tapping screws. It fits great, but I think I will try to add some supports to it sooner or later. It did fine like that on my 89 for a year, but I just swapped it to my 92. I never ran the 89 over about 80 mph or so.

Yes, they did drill holes in the bumper. You could see about 1/4" of bumper from the edge of the screw head, and the holes on the bumper support are very close the the back edge of the support. That pretty much puts the bumper even with the back of the support, without hanging over the back much if at all.

My car is pretty low, but I haven't scraped it yet since painting. I busted it up pretty good when it was on the 89, and I was trying to get used to it. I hit it twice, both times was on grass, in pretty deep drops. Once I got used to it, I learned to be very careful with it. Here is a picture of how it looked before repair and paint. It is in grass on a pretty flat tire for this picture though. If you look closely, that molding is crooked, it lines up well with the body molding on the door like it should. It's lined up right in the sig picture after paint, just under the molding line.

Its really not as hard as your making it out to be, Just set the bumper on there and identify where It needs to be supported at to be sturdy, The mounts dont have to be in the stock location as long as the bumper is solid.

I have two in the same place where forced's is at, four on the far ends, and two towards the middle.

You can use aluminum bar stock, steel bar stock, cut weld etc. just get creative with it.
