Well, I stopped by the shop where my supra is having it's head gasket done. Got to see my motor stripped down to the block... Head gasket was fubard (almost all cylinders were leaking) and it was broken at cylinder #1 and #6... otherwise it was in decent shape... I could see coolant pooled in cylinder #1 and thats about it... it looks great tho, really clean and no scratches or anything... It had $6000 put into the motor rebuild 8 years ago (40,000km ago) so I'm guessing it had new pistons and had the cylinders bored out or something, because it looked brand new... It was great to see, looked brand new :icon_bigg ... So I'm feeling great about my car now, once the head gasket is put in (it's a combination one or something, I guess it's similar to factory)... and told them to torque the head bolts to 80ft/lbs using lube rather than oil... so I'm going back there on monday to see the progress, they are sending the head to get machined monday morning and should get it back monday afternoon.
Everything soundin' ok? Anything else I should check with the mechanics?
