My mom's fiance offered me the chance to be the driver of his Super Comp dragster (8.90 second 1/4 mile times). All I need is to buy a helmet, neck brace, suit, gloves, boots, and get a physical and pass my drive test (in the dragster). The car runs on alcohol, so I need to make sure my equipment is rated for that. Anybody know someone who is selling what I need?

Damn dude, you got some balls of steel I think I would say no. I love having all this crumple zone and slow quarter mile times comparatively.

There are several people who still won't get in the car when I'm driving because of how crazy I am. Hell, my 1st speeding ticket was for doing 100 in a 65 in heavy traffic in an 03 Cavalier coupe with just wider wheels for an upgrade.

Last I checked, I'll be strapped down in a 5-point harness completely surrounded by a lot of tubular steel.

I would kill to be in your shoes....

Get a practice tree while you're at it...you'll need it!

Already have a practice tree. Believe it or not, I have only made less than 20 passes down the 1/4 (all in the Supra). Current best is 13.8 @ 104 MPH (shitty shifting times due to short throw shifter).

Small block 350 with 500 RWHP IIRC. We're firing it up Sunday. All we have to do is replace the oil pan gasket and put fuel in it to fire it up. But we still need to get the chassis recertified and modified to meet current specs, as well as get a new set of tires. Just got a new 5-point harness for it, and the seat pan is out getting modified right now. Last thing to do is make a new windshield and repaint the body. We don't plan on racing for points, so the name of the team will be No Point To It Racing.

In case anybody's wondering, the car hasn't seen the track in 2-3 years.

You have pics? GL and HF man, I wish I could do something like that. Unfortunately, I need to build an 8.90 car to do the same.
