I just got my new jdm motor put in about a month ago, she's been running great! Now, this winter i want to put it up and tear it down again and start on my 500 hp build. It will prolly take me til next summer but o'well. Anyway she's currently all stock pushing at exactly 7psi. I just took it out yesterday and just cruised all day, i came up to an mach1 5-speed mustang fox body annnd surprisingly i kept up with him from a rolling start. from a stop he smashed me obviously but for a stock mk3 supra vs. a modified mach 1 i think it was a job well done. And i can beat my buddy's 89 5.0, he stays with me til about 90 then i take off from him :). I have it up to 120. only problems i can say of is a big ass exhaust leak, and she has a problem sometimes on a cold start up, i have to crank it twice to get it started... Any suggestions or thoughts about anything. Any advice would be sweet pertaining to if everything sounds ok and if im heading the right direction... Btw about how fast can a stock mk3 go? not saying i'm going to push it, i was just curious.

Check your cold start injector sensor(efi temp). its the one on top of the thermostat housing in front. and as far as speed, it all depends on your rear end gearing. i have heard of members running 170+. I have 4.11's in mine and at 6k im at like 145, so it all depends on your gearing, and obviously getting to that speed is a factor too.

A supra can go as fast as you want it to if you have a big enough wallet and big enough balls, after all thats what jet turbines are made for, just strap a few of them on there and the sky is the limit, literally.:biglaugh:

I kinda have the same problem. How do you go about checking it?

Ha holy crap i didn't think they could push that much without internal damage. I'm trying to be as easy as possible on her because im afraid i will get another bhg. How easy is it to get a bhg? How should i control this car? Sorry for the noob posts but i'm in the process of learning everything i can about it and want to do everything right.. I've done my fare share of research on the supra- which is why i got one- but that is only RESEARCH not actual qualitative data.
