Im sitting at a red light waiting, for the light to turn green there was a mercedes-benz about 2 carlengths in front of me. When out of nowhere i get SMAshed from the rear!!

[i had my foot on the brakes] the supra went flying into the mercedes-benz in front of me [the supra turned off] an i had a major headache with neck pain... the guy in the mercedes-benz races away from the scene. Me and the guy were talking about the damage to my car [he had a 2007 V8 f-150] ...he said he will be responsible for all the damage [like he had a choice] lol the damage to the rear was bad the exhuast was bent the hatch doesnt open and the bumper was crush :-( [ i had to have the car towed]

THe front of the car was even worst the bumper was laying dead on the floor with the foglights the I.C was bent, corner lights broken, the flip up lights dont even flip up anymore, the hood is bent. Cearly not a good day for me,i went to the hospital for Neck, head, and back pain. The real fucked up part is that this morning i woke up with back pains :-( GREAT!!

Sorry about no pictures yet i have to upload them later

Sorry to hear about your car man. Damn that sucks! Let me know if there are any body parts you cant get a hold of. I'm gettin ready to strip a shell car for everything I can get without using a plasma to cut it off and I'd be happy to sell you some of the parts at a good price. I have a good hatch with glass, good rear quarters, rear bumper core and cover, good radiator core support, front bumper core support and one each pre 89 and 89+ front bumper cover. Also, have all other glass throughout the car. Anything else you might need, ask and I'll let you know if I got it.

By the way, maybe too late for you, but for all of us that have 1990 or earlier Supras, you can list it as a classic car and then list it's value, instead of them going off of blue book... You pay for it in the premium, but my experience, it did not add a lot to my policy.

Theres a car collector company you can search by state. THe company i am going with Just by pics valued my supra at 10,000 full coverage. Then the value goes up with more parts purchased. He said their book value for my 88 stock would have been 6500... so a 3500 increase on it all is not bad considering i got it with a blown engine

I am with Safeco and have my listed as $10,000 for value... Though I do not think you can't list it as your DD, I have 2 other vehicles on policy so not for sure, my insurance agent set it up, whom is a 3rd party agent not employee of Safeco

Holy crap, that sucks. Hopefully you can still pull the motor and into another MA70 chasis. You have the option for them to total out your car and then you can buy it back right? Ol' boy's insurance company better be compensating you for your medical problems too.

I'm just glad the guy in the truck didn't run off since he was one at fault. The guy in the Benz probably just didn't have insurance/suspensed license or had a damn warrant, but that's a pretty doucey right there.

classic car ins doesnt cover a DD...
like antique car, it has stipulations on when u can drive it.

get progressive, you can add on any amount of additional coverage for any mods and they'll cover it.

OP sorry to hear about the car... why didnt the truck stop? texting?

This I'm curious about. Not to derail the thread, but this could be pretty useful info for some of us with ugly cars with a lot done to them...

Definitely something up with the Benz though... no reason for him to take off like that if he's the one who got hit. Had to have hit you pretty good to push you two car lengths AND mess up your front end that bad. Hope all goes well for ya man.

I liked progressive when I had them. I had a certain amount of extra insurance for mods, but then I switch over to USAA back in 2008. They also did a good job w/ my
claim back in 2008 when that retard backed into my freshly painted car w/ a crane...

Maybe I'll go back to progressive idk.

Sorry to hear that bro. there seems to be alot of hit and runs lately, the other year i actually bumped into another car (not with the supra) and the lady driving the other car stuck her head out of the truck and looked at me and then speed away! my guess would be no insurance or they have a warrant.

This seems to be happening a lot to MK3s, while building my own car, i have visited many junkyards for odds and ends, every time i come across a supra in there with body damage, its ALWAYS in the rear, left quarter, right quarter or the whole damn thing, never once saw one smashed up in the front
